A Little About Me

Creativity has taken many forms throughout my life. I’ve painted, made collages, filled journals, created papers, worked digitally, and followed more creative detours than I can count. What ties it all together is curiosity—the question, What might happen if I try this?

Before I became an artist, I spent many years as a nurse. Those two parts of my life may seem very different, but both have always been about caring for people, encouraging them, and helping them see new possibilities.

Curiosity as a Way of Life

Curiosity has always been at the heart of how I move through the world. I’m constantly asking questions, looking things up, and wondering, “What would happen if I tried this?” For me, creativity grows from that curiosity. Through Creative Explorations, I invite others to discover their own possibilities in a supportive, welcoming environment—one that offers permission to experiment without worrying about perfection.

From My Worktable

I rarely begin with a finished picture in mind. I start with paint, marks, scraps of paper, old photographs, or whatever has caught my curiosity that day.  I paint many of the papers I use myself, then tear them, layer them, move them around, and see what begins to emerge.

Sometimes the result becomes a collage, a journal page, or something digital.  Sometimes it simply becomes another idea to follow.  For me, the exploring is every bit as important as the finished piece.
